Joining TOTUM takes about 5 minutes. Whether you're a sixth-form, college or university student, an apprentice or professional learner, a member of a professional body or trade union, academic staff or an alum — we've got you covered.

Follow the six steps below and you'll be unlocking discounts in no time.

Before you start, have these ready

  • Your personal email address (not your college/uni one) so you never lose access to your account.
  • Proof you're eligible — a student/staff login, institution email, document or code.
  • A UK delivery address and a clear photo of yourself (TOTUM+ card only).
  • A payment card, or Apple Pay if you're applying in the TOTUM app.
1Register your details

Head to totum.com/membership to see everything included with TOTUM+, then create your account with an email address, password and a few basic details.

Tip: use your personal email address — that way verification links and offer updates always reach you, even after you finish studying.
2Confirm your organisation or community

Tell us who you're registering through: a sixth form, college, university, apprenticeship provider, membership body or trade union.

3Confirm your account

This is how we check you're eligible. The options you see depend on what your organisation has activated — you may be offered up to four:

Chose digital-only membership? You're all set once your account is confirmed — log in to the TOTUM app or website to start saving.

The remaining steps apply only to TOTUM+ members, which includes a physical card, in-store offers and free PASS proof-of-age ID.

4Confirm delivery

Add the UK address you'd like your card sent to. If the postcode lookup doesn't show your exact address — for example your flat, room or building number — choose 'enter address manually' so your card reaches you without delay.

Living outside the UK? We can't post cards overseas. If you're moving here to study, ask your place of study whether your card can be delivered there for collection.
5Upload your photo

Upload a photo from your device or take one with your webcam. To get it right first time:

  • Your face should be clearly visible — no filters, sunglasses or friends in the background.
  • File size between 50KB and 10MB.
  • Dimensions of 600px × 750px (width × height).

6Make payment

Last step! Complete payment and a world of savings and member perks is yours.

We accept all major bank and credit cards on the website, plus Apple Pay if you're applying through the TOTUM app.

One last thing — if your membership includes PASS, log in to the TOTUM app to complete your PASS ID verification. Your card can't be used as proof of age until this is done.
